General terms and conditions for renting sports equipment

• The reservation becomes valid upon receipt of the reservation or for customers upon receipt of the booking confirmation. Checkpoint Sport reserves the right not to accept bookings

• The rental agreement is concluded between the customer who made the reservation and Checkpoint Sport.

• The renter is fully responsible for the rented sports equipment.

• Passing on the sports equipment to third parties is not permitted.

• The rental price is payable directly in the rental shop.

• The renter must present an official photo ID (passport or driver's license) at the start of the rental and agrees that a copy will be made of this document.

• The ski rental equipment is not insured. It can be insured against breakage and theft at a surcharge of 10%. In the event of improper handling (e.g. driving on gravel-scattered roads, etc.), the renter will be charged for a repair or, if necessary, the replacement procurement costs.

• In the event of theft, the renter must notify the competent security authority within 24 hours and report it to the rentee. Confirmation from the police is required. If the ski sports equipment is not insured, Checkpoint Sport will charge EUR 350,- for the Premium category, Euro 250,- for the Sport category and Euro 150,- for the Top category.

• The exchange of the rented sports equipment is possible at any time. If a piece of sports equipment of a higher category is used, the surcharge must be paid according to the price list.

• When renting after 3 p.m., the rental price will only be charged from the following calendar day. If the sports equipment is returned before 9 a.m., the current calendar day will not be charged.

• If the sports equipment is not used due to unfavorable weather, the rental price will not be reimbursed. If not used due to illness or accident, the rental price will be reimbursed upon presentation of a medical certificate. In the event of a total closure of the Dachstein West ski area, the remaining rental days will be reimbursed upon proof of a declaration by the lift operator company.

• The renter must ensure that the sports equipment is kept in such a way that it cannot be mistaken or stolen. For this purpose, skis should only be parked individually and separately from one another or stored in ski safes. During the night, the sports equipment must be kept in a locked ski room on site or in a locked car.

• With the signature on the rental agreement, the renter confirms the correctness of his personal data, which are used for the professional setting of ski bindings. The renter may not change the ski binding setting made by the rentee.

• If the rented sports equipment is not brought back on time without good reason, the renter can expect the theft report to be made against him.

• Personal data that you provide on this website will only be processed and used in compliance with the applicable national and European data protection regulations to process your inquiries or online reservations. In any case, Checkpoint Sport maintains the confidentiality of your data and will not sell, rent or make it available to third parties.

• Austrian law is exclusively applicable to these general rental conditions. Checkpoint Sport reserves the right to sue the renter at his or her registered adress or at any other competent court or authority.
